Bolton Music and Performance Arts Centre

Stage Right worked for Bolton Music Service with Ian Ritchie Architects on the design of the Music and Performing Arts Centre in Bolton. The new venue is a finely tuned music box with teaching spaces floating above and is located in the heart of Bolton, a location with musical history as the site of the former ikon nightclub. The capacity of the Concert Hall is between 350 and 750 depending on the adaptable format. In addition, there is a 111-seat contemporary venue which is also designed with adaptability in mind, along with a rehearsal room. The building has extensive music teaching spaces and practice rooms to deliver its important music teaching programmes. The entire facility has a gross internal area of 3,300M2.
