The Albany Theatre

Coventry, UK

To facilitate a major contribution to Coventry's year as 'City of Culture 2021', the Albany Theatre will be undergoing a major redevelopment. Phase one of a three phase programme completed in October 2024. Originally built and used as lecture theatre from 1935, phase 1 developed the vacant shell space, created a double height foyer and three new studios. Future phases will look at the creation of a prestigious and attractive new entrance, fully in-keeping with the beautiful former college building, as well as expanding and refurbishing the rear stage, add further studios and renovate the existing 600-seat theatre and related technical systems.
